Mayur Public School - a multifaceted institution came into inception in the year 1989 at Mayur Vihar Ph II founded by Mayur Educational Society which constitutes eminent professionals and educationists. With a firm belief that ‘the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step’, MPS started its journey about two decades back in a humble set up but with a group of people of extra ordinary determination and has proved successful. Mayur Public School , I P Extension since its inception in 1989 is a staunch believer in imparting education by creating curiosity so that the child becomes a passionate learner and learning becomes a life long process .

The school is founded by Mayur Educational Society ( Regd.) which consist of eminent educationists , lawyers , doctors , Journalists and Social workers etc.

The school possesses sturdy grand building which consist of an auditorium ,well equipped laboratories for Physics , Chemistry , Biology, Mathematics and two Computer Labs . It also has a vast library n with over ten thousand volumes of books , magazines, journals , newspapers etc and a room for music , art c& craft and Dance etc.

Education is a life long process , but it must develop from firm and broad foundations . The endevour of the school has always been to strike just the right balance between quality and quantity .

As far as the boards results are concerned the result produced every year is 100% and the highest aggregate in class X and XII has been 97.4% and 94.4% respectively . The school has not merely been outshining in the arena of academics but aims at the holistic development of its students . MPS Eco Club , in collaboration with Department of Environment , Govt. Of NCT of Delhi has been a lead school amongst all the public and govt. Schools of East Delhi and has to its credit various awards in creating awareness against environmental pollution . Further more, the school has been performing consistently in co-curricular activities which are woven into the school curriculum . The students have bagged various prizes at the Zonal , District as well as the State levels . Be it dramatics , debate , quiz , extempore , Dance or painting , Mayurians bubbling with enthusiasm and vitality have always been participating in all these activities .
